Monique moved to North Carolina in July 2002 from Maryland. She is a graduate from Sandhill’s Community College and Fayetteville Technical Community College. Monique comes to NCLCV with a wide range of organizing experiences and leadership skills. From 2013 to now, Monique has also worked as a part-time Assistant Organizer with Democracy North Carolina, and she has headed up the field operations for numerous campaigns. As a community advocate and leader, Monique feeds the homeless once a month and educates the people in her community on voting right. Prior to her involvement with Democracy NC, Monique’s work included leadership development with Democratic Women of Cumberland County youth across NC and environmental justice organizing as well as teaching a social networking class to DWCC members.
