Help Them Rebuild

Help our Western neighbors rebuild and prepare for winter.

A gift of:

  • $25 can provide a caulk gun, canister, and door stripping
  • $50 can weatherproof an entire home’s windows, doors, and seal cold air out
  • $100 can supply a full home weatherization kit for a family who attends our resource fairs

When Hurricane Helene struck Western North Carolina in September of 2024, thousands of our community members were left without homes, power, and resources for weeks. From FEMA to the Red Cross to local relief organizations, everyone is lending a hand to help our neighbors rebuild better.

However, there is still so much to be done. Here at NCLCVF, we’ve shifted our capacity to meet the need – and we need your help to keep the good work going.

NCLCVF is a 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions and gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. EIN 23-7206810

Staff from NCLCVF have handed out over 300 weatherization kits to deserving families in Yancey County, one of the areas hit hardest by Helene. We’ve spoken to over 1000 people in the area still in need of home improvements, repairs, and complete rebuilds.

Winter is coming, and these supplies are critical to protect our Western neighbors from extreme cold while keeping their energy bills as low as possible.

Every resident of our state deserves a healthy, safe home. Even the smallest donation helps us give out these supplies for free to local residents.

If you’d like to see us at work or come help out, our next event is September 11th at the Pensacola Free Will Baptist Church. Email meech@nclcv.org for more information!

Thank you for your support of NCLCVF, and we couldn’t do this work without you.

PowerUp helped me notice that weatherizing my house not only lowered my power bill, but it also lowered pollution levels in our neighborhood.

Make a Matching Gift

Employer matching gift programs may double or triple your contribution to NCLCVF! Many organizations have a matching gift program where an employee who gives a donation to a 501(C)3 organization, like NCLCVF, can have their gift matched by the employer. Gifts from employees’ spouses and retirees may also qualify for a match. Be sure to check with your own HR department! Fill out any matching gift forms and send it to NCLCVF along with your donation.
