Cairo René Moorman II is a passionate and well-traveled environmental activist who has proudly made North Carolina his home, planting deep roots in the community he serves. Growing up as the child of military and diplomatic parents, Cairo was exposed to the rich diversity of cultures, perspectives, and experiences that shape our world. This global upbringing instilled in him a fundamental belief: regardless of where we come from, what we believe in, who we love, or what we do, everyone deserves a place where they feel accepted and valued. As an African American and Asian man, Cairo is committed to breaking down barriers of prejudice and ignorance, striving to cultivate a community of educated changemakers who leave the world better than they found it. He eagerly joined this program to enhance his leadership and team-building skills, ensuring he is fully equipped to serve his community and be a positive role model for future generations. For Cairo, activism is not just about responding to change—it’s about being the force that drives it. He aspires to take an active role in shaping the world around him, rather than simply being affected by it. Beyond his work trying to take on the world’s problems, Cairo is a true Jack-of-all-trades, with a passion for fixing vehicles, building projects, cooking, gaming with friends, and caring for his plants.
