Crystal Cannon
Crystal Cannon is a proud North Carolina native, growing up in Rocky Mount, NC. She relocated to the Triangle area to attend North Carolina State University (Go Pack!) as an undergraduate and completed her Master’s degree at NC Central University (Eagle Pride!). Her interest in community engagement was sparked during graduate training with opportunities to work on community based health education research projects. Professionally, she has cultivated this passion by supporting national initiatives focused on expanding access to health resources, strengthening partnerships with underserved populations, and ensuring that the voices of those most affected help shape research, policy, and practice. Crystal is also committed to efforts to build inclusive teams and networks. She brings together diverse perspectives to achieve shared goals and guide the successful execution of high‑impact programs. She has led multiple committees dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace culture and creating environments where people can thrive. As an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, she contributes to programs that uplift families, empower communities, and strengthen civic participation. She also serves faithfully within her church, supporting ministries that promote spiritual growth and outreach. Across every space she enters, Crystal brings a strengths‑based, relational approach—building bridges between people and institutions, amplifying marginalized voices, and championing solutions that move us all toward justice, access, and collective flourishing. As a fellowship member, she is eager to deepen her learning, build meaningful connections with fellow members, and contribute to a community with a shared commitment to engagement and impact.
