Henry Adamson is a full-time PhD student who currently lives in Raleigh, NC, though they are originally from Sarasota, Florida. Growing up visiting the swamps, springs and waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Henry gained an impactful appreciation of nature, which continues to influence their work on the local North Carolina ecology. As a scientific researcher, a bike commuter, and a naturalist, Henry is motivated to learn more about policy and how it applies to the issues they care about such as conservation, workers’ rights, and public access to transportation. Henry also works part-time for a local labor union. They are excited about the program because they want to be more active in the community in order to advocate for its members. Henry also enjoys rock climbing, pickle ball, drawing, and learning Spanish.
