Keyia Williams
Keyia Williams serves as Regional Director for the North Carolina A. Philip Randolph Institute, where she leads efforts focused on civic engagement, youth leadership development, and expanding economic opportunity within communities across the region. Her work is grounded in the belief that strong communities are built when people are informed, engaged, and empowered to lead. Keyia is passionate about mentoring young people and helping them recognize their ability to influence the future of their communities. Through leadership programs, civic education, and community initiatives, she works to create opportunities that encourage youth and working families to become active participants in the democratic process. Keyia is interested in the Boards and Commissions Fellows Program because she recognizes the importance of having community voices present in decision-making spaces. She hopes to strengthen her knowledge of public leadership and governance while bringing her experience working directly with communities into conversations that shape policies and programs. Her goal is to ensure that the perspectives of youth, families, and working communities are reflected in decisions that impact their everyday lives.
