Sharisse Brown is an active and engaged leader in her community and a seasoned professional with international experience. She is a dedicated member of several prominent organizations, including the Beta Sigma Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, the NC NAACP, and the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) North Carolina State Coalition. Her commitment to local initiatives is further demonstrated by her recent appointment to the New Hanover County Extension Advisory Council.
Sharisse has a strong history of volunteerism focused on education and community support. She has served as an instructor for both English and computer skills through the Cape Fear Literacy Council. Additionally, she has worked through her sorority and church to feed the unhoused and provide bookbags and essential items to children in the community. Sharisse also shares her professional expertise by volunteering as a consultant through skillConnect, where she assists non-profits in addressing Human Resources (HR) skillset gaps.
