Lizbeth Hernandez is a full time student who grew up and currently lives in Winston-Salem, NC. As a student who is currently enrolled at Salem College, she is pursuing her bachelors in Biochemistry and has great hopes for a higher education in the future in order to achieve her dream career in biomedical science. Lizbeth’s current passions and interests are working towards her bachelors in biochemistry to later get a masters in microbiology and further pursue her PhD in biomedical sciences, advocating for human health, and applying her skills to improve herself and others around her. Lizbeth applied for the boards and commissions fellowship program to give a voice to her community, and raise further awareness on the health issues that are related to climate change. While being in the program, she hopes to gain skills on how to use her voice, become a leader, and gain experience on causing a positive change for her community.
