Lizet Ameca Guevara is a pre-med student from Wilson, NC, and a proud Mexican-American with a deep passion for healthcare, community service, and making a positive impact. As a full-time student, she balances her academic responsibilities with volunteering, particularly with the American Red Cross. Lizet has had the opportunity to assist during natural disasters and other urgent situations, which has strengthened her commitment to helping others in times of need. She has applied for the Boards and Commissions Fellowship because she believes it offers an invaluable opportunity to gain experience, build connections, and further her professional network. While this isn’t her first time participating in such programs, Lizet is eager to continue learning and growing through this experience. Above all, she aims to represent her Mexican-American community and advocate for those who look like her, ensuring diversity and inclusion are prioritized. Outside of her academic and volunteer work, Lizet enjoys spending quality time with her small family. Together, they love exploring new places and embracing new adventures. Ultimately, Lizet’s goal is to combine her passion for clinical work with a lifelong dedication to service and representation.
