Civic Engagement State Director of Power the Vote NC

Luther Hemby III
My name is Luther Hemby III, and I was born in Washington, North Carolina, Dec. 25, 1977. I currently live in Winterville, NC, with my wife of nineteen years, Teresa Monique Hemby, our two children, and our two dogs. I have served as an Elder at the Bible Way Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop Bryant Hill, Sr., for over two decades, holding various ministry positions that have allowed me to grow and serve in my faith community. Professionally, I am the Civic Engagement State Director of Power the Vote NC, a project of the North Carolina League of Conservation Voters Foundation. I began my career in community\organizing in 2016 and now oversee statewide voter registration and civic engagement programs, working to ensure equitable access to government and decision-making processes. In addition, I volunteer with the Pitt County Human Relations Committee as the At-Large Faith Representative, serve as president of the Manchester HOA board, member of the Faith Based Committee of Pitt County, Inter Faith Clergy, and West Greenville Health Council and am deeply passionate about climate advocacy.
