“As a Regional Field Organizer for PowerUp NC, I believe in the power of people and the importance of showing up for our communities. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how environmental neglect and systemic racism go hand in hand—how Black and Brown communities are often the last to receive resources, yet the first to feel the impact of climate disasters, pollution, and economic disinvestment. My work is deeply rooted in a desire to break those cycles. I organize not just to advocate, but to empower others to use their voice, take action, and claim the justice that’s long overdue.
Environmental and racial justice are not separate issues—they are deeply connected. You can’t talk about clean air, safe neighborhoods, or green jobs without also addressing the historic and ongoing oppression that communities of color face. That’s why this work matters so much to me. Every door I knock, every conversation I have, and every meeting I organize is a step toward creating a more just and sustainable future. I’m committed to lifting up the voices of those who’ve been ignored for too long and making sure our communities not only survive—but thrive.”
